I created this to make extreme hot, steamy feeling.
most important part is the use of appropriate colrs in obvious; red, orange, black and yellow.
it is a csene in the well-known Japanese Cartoon"PLUTO" that gives me super interest.

Design LOGO for a small company in Korea.
The company just starts running in field of metal industry, I weighed on the meaning on the LOGO rather than just designing style.
So, the logo is inspired chinese letter "世"which means"human" "world"... I emphasize the round profile instead having straight as the client wanted.

Color use is pretty typical to provide "industry" feel.

Hoping the company goes last long.

I finally found an appropriate 2D software. I have been fed up Photoshop and Illustrator even though I am not an expert of Adobe. I mean, I need new stuff for fun

So it is the "Alias Sketch " I already installed "Sketchbook Pro" but I never used it is a kind boring and hard to work with my Tablet.

AliasSketch is pertty functional as well as UI is interesting, the most I like is optimizing line strokes as a vector line. It allows me to draw clean and sponteneous lines so I was able to draw a car in quick.

The turning out is not so great, but I can say I was able to get used into it so fast.

All the icons on the interface and functions are pretty understanable to me, even though I am not a smart man for software.

Illustration for realism .

Realism may be is based on the idea that reality, or the world, has a structure that is beautiful. Therefore, the object, sizes, perspective and all the contents in the painting are supposed be right and precise.

Realism mainstream is to depict subjects in accordance with secular empirical rules, as they are considered to exist in third person objective reality, without embellishment or interpretation.

In order to show surrealism,
First, I chose a style of detailed portrayal that is inspired by photographic style to follow actual realism. I think the photographic style contains many facts as values, good composition proportion and so on.

Second, I use over exposure on this painting; also I fully put the main object to cut out forehead. Medium brush strokes are used to depict realism style. The combination of the effects; light, brush strokes and the composition may make the scene more dramatic.

Third, I used a metaphor that a pair of purple gloves is very meaningful for the main character, she probably want to express what she thinks through the gloves. Therefore the gloves can be potential image of her.

All the objects in the poster are rendered in exact perspective and right proportion to be close to actual realism.

Surrealism .

A piece of Illustration work to be Surrealism Style.

Surrealism contains various styles and streams which can be humor, odd as well a expression of subconsciousness.

The objects in Surrealism can be distorted and bent as much as the artist can imagine, can be expressed the world of Illusion, Imagination and unrealistic, however most surrealists show the culmination of portrayal.

In order to show surrealism,

First, I chose a style of detailed portrayal that is inspired by Peter de Sève. His uses water color and color pencils to present humorous and hilarious situations.

Second, I used light, less staining colors and soft brush strokes to present the humorous scene as well as I use pencil strokes to emphasize the shadows.

I used a metaphor that a nice dinner set is in a snow globe with penguins to present patio in cold weather. Of course we love patio in nice warm weather, we don’t want to be at cold patio. We may want to hold the snow globe in the hands instead of being in the snow globe.

Therefore all the objects in the poster are rendered in exact perspective and right proportion to be close to Surrealism.

The aim :

The company is putting together a business plan for a product based on Wii technology. The target market is physiotherapists and the medical community. Sensors are hooked up to people with mobility and joint problems. As they follow exercises on a video screen the sensors transmit information regarding speed and accuracy. The exercises are done at home and the collected data is sent to the physiotherapists computer so that a patient's progress can be tracked.

Rationale Statement. --------------------------------------------------------------------

Out of Africa

The poster presents a book cover for the “Out of Africa” that is designed with traditional African patterns. For the project, I want to emphasize the three main elements to be different from the original design of the book cover.

First, I use the primitive patterns and simplified symbols which are designed of animals and plants. That design may give readers more interests and the scent of Africa. All the patterns; giraffes, birds and sun followed the traditional design that contain simplicity and white bold out lines.

Second, the intense colors which are deep orange, yellow and black are used for main colors and green, brown, white are used for sub-colors. The color of combination makes a mood of Africa with the patterns.

Third, for the layout, a diagonal line divides into two faces to be more dynamic and contrast; one is orange background as a strong image and bright blue sky with house as peaceful image the contrast presents the image of Africa.

I used large brush for background on dried gesso to present the rough texture and used a slender-writing brush to render the animals. And I made two versions; one contains a pattern of shield on the sky, the other does not show that. Because I realized that there is so busy around the shield cloud and title.

In conclusion, I combined all the contents; colors, patterns and mood to present my artwork
as the book cover for “Out of Africa”

Wine Label for ART2000_010 Drawing and Painting

Rationale. --

The figure of label is inspired by a traditional house that preserves wine, the color combinations; used yellow outlines and the main illustration that is painted with water color present a bottle of pure white wine.

In order to emphasize that the wine is from Italy, I painted a scene of Montepulciano in the label, also add the color of Italy which are green, white and red.

For the title of the wine, a neat and classy font is used to support the overall refined mood and rhythm of the label. It does not stand out itself too much from the label, another classy font is used for subordinate information such as percentage of alcohol, volume and distributer.

The logo presents a letter “S”, it is inspired by a stream of water. It can be a metaphor of nature and the wine is very fresh. Some stems and leafs of grapes are around the “S” as a decoration factor. The logo is used on the neck-label and the cap, all the color combinations signify the high quality of white wine.

In conclusion, I try to emphasize the pure white wine and Italy through the all combinations; color, shape and illustration

Cubism.

ya, of course there are many works for other classes.

but, the projects for this class are pretty visible and noticeable so.

the second project is Cubism but bot really exactly the Cubism, I want to say such a modern cubism.

the Rationale.

The poster presents a scene of what the spy is on U-boat to infiltrates into Ottawa through the canal.

As the German spy story has left several hilarious episodes, I try to emphasize one of the hilarious stories how the spy landed in Ottawa with a lot of money; the scene is represented in a modern Cubism style.

To create a cubism style, I step into a couple of ways; using specific colors and simplifying objects in free perspective.

First, the tertiary colors; yellow, blue and purple are dominantly used to create the cubism mood, as well as the secondary colors are used to support the main colors. Finally the color combination is resulted in a modern cubism.

Second, the cubism does not really adhere to any precise perspective and realistic shapes; it means the cubism allows all the objects to be more distorted and to be more free and to be more subjective. The factors make the result more dynamic and live.

Therefore all the objects in the poster are simplified in free perspective as well as are created in unrestricted proportion to be more interesting.

Expressionism.

- Leviathan.

The poster presents a scene of the Leviathan. As the novel, Moby Dick has two main structures;

the captain Ahab and the white whale Moby Dick, I want to emphasize the two

main characters on the poster.

First, the tail of a whale is used as a metaphorical expression to be a bookmark that is directly

related to a book. It is an important key to intimate the relation between the book

and Lara Hazelton.

Second, Captain Ahab who is the main character of the novel is expressed on the cover of

the book. Not only shows his obsession with killing Moby Dick, but it also represents

Lara’s obsession to be a successful doctor.

A gradation effect has been chosen to emphasize the book and the tail by using brighter

colour near the object and darker near the corner. The color effects play a decisive role to

determine overall mood of the poster as hope and despair co-exist.

I also used medium-rough brush strokes technique to express the stream of Expressionism.

The brush strokes are the key factor of the Expressionism.

In conclusion, I combined all the contents; colors, patterns and mood to present my artwork

as the Expressionism art work.

I accidently saw the designer of the car, I was amazed when I saw his career for car designing.

I don’t think many people know that Samsung has manufactured their own car under their brand name. The company was founded in 1995, announced their first model SM5 in 1998. The first model was inspired by a Japanese car, therefore the car would be familiar. Unfortunately, the Samsung Car did not overcome the crisis of finances while the IMF in

, finally the company was taken over by French company Renault in 2000. Their name has been changed to Renault-Samsung Car since the big deal between two companies. I have thought about how people send a text message in quick through cell phones,

and I designed to rearrange keypad which is arranged in the alphabetical order.I placed all the vowels in one column at the last right, and re-coupled other consonant to minimized to press while messaging.

An example, when I need to text like" BYE", I have to press buttons 7 times on the conventional phone but I need to press buttons only 4 times on my concept. Another example, "we have a meeting at ten" is 34 : 29(including press button for space between words), this concept may enable people to save time for text messages. I know there is a sort of dictionary function on the usual phone, but people have to press buttons to look for appropriate words, it still takes longer time than my concept.

Canon 5D Mark II.

I have used 400d(Revel XTi) for a couple years, my dream is the 5D, I will go for it somehow.

personally I love the Canon's performance and design which is sleek shape with three dimensional curves. I think that the reason why I like this camera is mainly fact that my first loved one was Canon EOS5, and the first camera is linked with my old memory.

Creating 3D form through the “Thermoforming” with using sheet plastic material, this project focuses on designing forms which are quite sophisticated. The factors such as “Draw ratio”, “Wall thickness” and “Draft” should be understandable for the project. As well all the factors are delivered by the manipulation of specific techniques for the manufacture of the mold.Particularly, a game borad which is called as “TROUBLE” is applied for this project.

Abstract

The objective of a wheelbarrow is to be able to move heavy loads of gardening or constructing materials; for instance, bags of soil for personal gardening purposes. Thus, a wheelbarrow provides efficiency and convenience in such a working. Durable and rugged material guarantees long term reliability and seamless structure of the tray ensures safety to users. However, the product may require complements in regards to versatility to easily maneuver and use in various environments and circumstances.

Background

Currently, the overall structure of a wheelbarrow is specifically divided into three parts: (1) a seamless structure of the tray, which is used to store large loads, made of durable plastic or steel; (2) frames hold the tray, connect and keep the wheel(s) intact, and made of steel or wood extending to the handles; and (3) wheel(s) which allow users to easily carry and work at an unrestricted distance.

In a specific case of a certain wheelbarrow, the product tended to restrict mobility. It was not suited to run on iced or rough surfaces, therefore, exhausting the user at a faster rate. In another case, users experienced difficulty when having to carry loads upward on sloped surface. In addition, the wheelbarrow created difficulty in dumping materials on sloped surfaces because in order to dump out the load, the user was required to highly lift or stand up the wheelbarrow. Obviously, this scenario creates potential risks to the user while the user dumped out the load from the tray. Thus, it needs to be modified to be able to move upward and dump materials on sloped surfaces. As a result, from an ergonomical and functional perspective, a wheelbarrow ought to be designed to have more than one wheel and incorporate implementations for easy dumping. Also, it may require complements to move the wheelbarrow on the sloped surfaces.

Development process

Firstly, referring specifically the frame, the design profile was inspired by an impala that has a very dynamic profile. In order to eliminate the difficulties of current wheelbarrows: (1) it ought to be designed to have two wheels and an additional pair of handles; and (2) two wheels ensuring a wheelbarrow more reliability when in use and extra set of handles will allow two users to users to operate when necessary.

Secondly, a door designed at the front of the tray will open automatically while the user lifts up the wheelbarrow to dump out the materials. Therefore, the door will reduce potential risks to users having to lift the wheelbarrow. Thirdly, a removable safety bar was incorporated between the front handles providing convenience and stability while users carry up the wheelbarrow on a sloped surface. Furthermore, each part will be sold and stored separately so that users can easily purchase and assemble the wheelbarrow conveniently. The targeted market depends on the capacity and size of the wheelbarrow, the newly designed wheelbarrow may be used for various purpose such as personal gardening and up to a mid-size construction area.

working for a design comprtition, is held by Design21 Social Design Network, titled as child's play.

Concept -
The interactive play on the wall “IPOW” targets kids between 6month and 6years. The intelligent toy will support babies in getting up as well as provides creativity and imagination to the kids. The IPOW depends on kids’ growth period; therefore kids will play with the toy without any prescriptiveness.
For babies, around six month-years are highly active in curiosity and senses. In physical feature is that the babies start going on hands and legs on floor, touch and grasp objects around them. The IPOW will provide not only ease and stability to stand up but also will enable the babies to feel touch and color.
For kids, around 3~4years old, the kids are rapidly developed both physical movements and brain movements. The IPOW will enable the kids to advance their detail hand movements such as grabbing, pushing, pulling and taking off and on the objects as they are playing with the IPOW; moreover, the kids will be developed for brain movements such as color sense, material, and so on while operating the toy.
In last, for around 5~6 years old, they tend to draw and pencil everywhere once they grabbed a pen. Another function of the toy is to provide a huge paintable plate on the wall. The kids can enjoy drawing and penciling with their own creativity on the wall without any scolding from parents.
The IPOW will help out children to develop the creativity through out physical movements and the five senses.

Concept -

When kids become at 3~4 years, the intelligence is extremely advanced as well as specific characteristic is built up at the same time. The traits of the period, they want to be very independent and want to make a social with friends. Sometimes they want to hide themselves when they want to be alone or when they feel to escape from a situation, shame or anger, sometimes they love to imagine in their own space. Kids also tend to keep their treasure in the secret place, then show off the treasure to friends proudly. By the reasons, they desire to get an independent and secret space, such as in the closet or under the bed or small cabin in back yard.

As the kid’s characteristic, the Blovi will help the kids to build up their own secret space with their own creativities. The kids also can make a conversation tools and table for their social life; moreover they can play with it on the water in secure. The kids can naturally develop their own intelligence and senses while playing and operating the Blovi

The Blovi consists of flat cylindrical shapes, flat box shapes and flexible connectors, the main cylindrical shapes and box shapes can be designed any shape in manufacturing, all the material is 100% recyclable. The light weight components are very easy to access for kids with pastel color, it is designed to assemble easily with perceptible clues.

Eventually, the Blovi will guide the kids to get accomplishment of building up the structures what they want to make, and will enable the kids to advance their own intelligence and creativity through the processing of assembly. The kids also will grow bigger imagination with the Blovi.
